Electrical Maintenance

Electrical maintenance is the process of ensuring that electrical equipment is kept in good working order. It includes inspecting, testing, and repairing electrical equipment as necessary, to prevent problems that could lead to a loss of power or an electrical fire.

TEST

  • Smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector operation and batteries
  • Receptacles for reverse polarity and grounding
  • Ground fault receptacles for proper operation and review locations
  • Ground fault and arc fault breakers for proper operation

INSPECT

  • Service entrance cables
  • Exterior service meter
  • Grounding & bonding points
  • Proper mounting of equipment

CHECK

  • Grounding bridge interior and exterior
  • Main breaker for correct sizing
  • Trip settings for the installed breakers match the wire size
  • For loose termination points
  • Connection points are free of corrosion
  • Correct voltage rating
  • For dangerous knob and tube wiring
