Duties and Responsibilities
We are currently looking for an Electrical Estimator to estimate labor, materials, and costs. This includes preparing detailed electrical cost estimates by studying plans and specifications while interacting with clients, designers, project managers, and site supervisors to determine engineering and design requirements. This includes reading construction documents, providing takeoffs, assembling estimates, inputting in estimating software, and establishing goals and standards.
- Prepare proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
- Experience on commercial projects and light industrial
- Attend pre-bid meetings and/or tour job sites to confirm requisite take-offs
- Prepare estimates by calculating complete take-off of scope of work
- Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including information on pricing from suppliers obtained through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, software uploads, etc.
- Support other department personnel as required; may include assisting with estimates in other disciplines
- May review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, and/or availability of materials
- Interface with clients on bid-walks
- May provide support to field operations regarding electrical estimates
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with Estimating Software a plus(Bluebeam).
Position Requirements
- 1-3 years of Commercial and Residential Estimating Experience
- 6+ years experience as an electrician
- Skilled in the use of the tools of the trade
- Ability to squat, bend, stand, climb ladders, and lift 40 pounds
- Capable of working alone or in a team
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of management
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must have Electrical License from WA state
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 – $50.00 per hour based on the candidate’s experience and knowledge base.
